"Sammy, are you okay?" shouted James as he struggled to his feet.

"I'm fine I think," said the blonde boy as he rubbed his head. "But the club!"

Both men leaned over the side of the balcony.

Flames billowed forth from smashed glass windows several stories below.

"You need to get to safety," ordered the soldier. "Can you do that for me?"

The lad nodded.

"What about you?"

James smiled back wearily.

"Into the fire?" asked the teen.

"As always" said the lieutenant grimly, "See you on the other side, Sammy."

The soldier then took a moment to wink slyly at the boy before dashing into the burning building without further delay. The boy swooned. Then made for his own exit as well.

Inside The Exo Club smoke poured through the numerous hallways and dance floors. A wild assortment of alien guests and Sam clones fled for the stairs. Shrieks of panic echoed through the cacophony.

"Have you seen Slim or my father?" called out James, briefly hoping it had been the former and not the latter whom had witnessed him on the patio with Sammy.

But in the chaos no one answered any of the boy's questions as the mob of party goers raced away from the flames.

The whole building would be coming down soon!

James then saw an alien that did belong.

Face mask.

Breathing tank.

Force sticks.

This was another soldier.

Ready for the fire it had created itself.

And now was staring directly at him.

The two warriors clashed in the center of the burning dance floor, fists flying.

Swing!

Dodge!

Punch!

Throw!

Kick!

Slam!

Both beings hurdled themselves against each other amongst the flames, each hoping to end the fight quicker than the other.

"What do you want?" shouted the human soldier at his assailant.

But when a response was not immediately forthcoming, an elbow to the side of its skull brought down the alien attacker once and for all.

James turned to see two more armed enemies climbing the stairs.

"The second Umon. Bag him."

The two beasts were on him in a flash, the fight resuming once more.

Block!

Pivot!

Smash!

Twist!

Grab!

Toss!

But this time the human soldier was outnumbered, and the sheer force of their attacks was leaving the boy dazed and retreating.

Sweat turned to steam right off his hot skin as James and his enemies battled in the fire. Any still working show lights dazzled their view with an array of multicolor beams as the dance floor collapsed all around them.

Through a hole in the floor the younger Blade could see one of the vast chambers below. The enemy soldiers were loading the vehicle they had crashed through the walls of The Exo Club.

What had they come here for!?

Distracted by the view, James was caught off guard by one of the unknown henchmen as the alien grabbed him by his shirt and held him out over the yawning chasm.

"Give up Umon."

"Who are you?"

The man did not have time to answer, thrown to the floor, tackled from behind.

It was Sammy!

"I told you to get out of here!"

"You're not my owner."

The boy then delivered several swift attacks to the alien's head area, while James took down their still standing foe.

When their enemies were unsconscious beside them the soldier turned to the lad.

"Where did you learn to do that?"

"Bitch has to take care of itself in Outer Ring City."

"I'd say."

In the room below, the enemy craft's engines egnited and the vehicle carreened through another wall, shaking the entire building as it fled the scene.

Another Sam clone rushed onto the fiery dance floor.

"It's Slim and his Umon brother!" exlaimed the youth. "They've been taken!"
