Watching

Jade and Kai were perched high atop one of the buildings that bordered the alley where they had taken down the villains that had stolen so much from them. They wanted to watch to make sure these two were taken care of by the law so they could spend the rest of their days behind bars rather than in a beach somewhere.

Neither one of them spoke a word as they watch the officers pick them up, cuff them and put them in the back of a large van. The both felt great relief and some form of redemption. Both knew that they still had a lot to resolve and talk about. Kai, who was usually the one to follow and not take the lead on things, decided it was time to break the ice on this subject. He wasn't always the best with words so he decided to let his actions speak for him.

While they were standing their watching the events unfold below them, Kai slowly raised his arm, putting it around Jade's shoulder, something he had never done before. As Kai's left hand came to rest on Jade's upper chest, Jade liked the feeling, his left arm rose with his hand landing on top of Kai's taking hold of it, now both resting on his chest.

At the same time there eyes met each other’s, both smiled an unsure smile at the other, not sure what to do next....
