Phoenix |
"Oh, never say never," quips Dr. Morpheus as he rolls over a cart containing a large silver cylinder attached to an anesthesia mask. "You look tired after all that exertion, Phoenix. Let me help you get some rest." Dr. Morpheus places the mask over Phoenix's nose and mouth. Phoenix moves his head back and forth in an effort to dislodge the mask but to no avail. Dr. Morpheus turns on the flow of gas from the cylinder. It quickly enters the mask. "Breathe deep, Phoenix. Let the anesthetic do its work. That's it, take another breath. Soon you'll be in dreamland again. And I have much more in store for you when you wake up." Dr. Morpheus strokes Phoenix's head, urging him into oblivion. After a few more breaths, Phoenix's eyes begin to glaze over. Soon he is almost unable to keep his eyes open. With one final breath, his eyes flutter shut. Phoenix is sound asleep. |
